Follow Me...

Yes, I am encouraging you to follow me on this journey of shopping wisely as a lifestyle, not a fad. God has called us each to be a good steward, a person who administers the property, house, finances, etc, of another. All that we have is His. God is the owner of all things, for they come from Him and are ruled by Him. Good stewardship enables us to have more resources to build the kingdom of God.

As I find out about great deals I will share them via Twitter @fruitofherhand. I will continue to use my blog for encouragement, information, updates and more, so it is advantageous to subscribe to both my twitter @fruitofherhand and my blog http://michele-fruitofherhands.blogspot.com/. Today I will try to get you caught up on some of the great deals we were unable to share at my coupon gathering normally held on Mondays. Have a great day full of Wise Shopping!

Motherhood is a Privilege

Growing up, I always liked children and the idea of being a mommy. I start babysitting when I was ten; I cared for my cousin as an infant. I had him almost every weekend for the first five years of his life. Very quickly did I find joy in nurturing and loving kids.

When I became a christian, I gave not only my heart to the Lord but my womb also. I committed to Him not to use any birth control, not with the idea of having a full quiver; it was truly out of submission and obedience unto Him, for spoke to my heart. God had great plans ahead.

He has been gracious unto me; I have birthed ten children and He has entrusted us to "train them unto Him. I know this is a privilege, for there are women who are barren and those who have had much difficultly to become pregnant. I am grateful to God for choosing my womb to bring forth His children and for giving me a heart that desires to serve Him as mother.

My children are a gift to me. They are given to me for such a time as this to nurture, to love, to
instruct and to discipline all unto His glory. I am unable to do this without Him, for they are His. He created them for his purpose and He has the plan for each of them. I am his vessel by which He choose to use, to aid in His plan and I am so grateful for the opportunity.

Parenting is not easy; but nothing worth doing is effortless. I am encouraged each day with each situation and circumstance that arises because I can and I do go to my heavenly father for His guidance for His children. He comforts me and gives me wisdom. He reminds me of how He nurtures and trains me as his child that I might see the model for my own situation. I have learned so much about myself and about who God is through this privilege of mothering.

Be encouraged my dear sisters for God will never leave you nor forsake you. Acknowledge today that your children are His children, seek Him and trust Him.

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 30:31 NIV

It’s Spring!

This is the beginning of our Spring/Summer break and it is much needed. For us, this is a break from the regular academic schedule. Though we will still be engaged in learning, we will be doing so as a family through reading, visiting sites and hands on activities. Monday, each of the children made a wish list of things they’d like to do during this time. Our first activity was to go to a movie together and then to have a little outside fun!

I have a big task before me, to work with my husband and market our business, Tech Squad. Without even applying for the position I have acquired an addition task and title, Social Media Marketing Manager. Wow! With all that said, I thank God for these opportunities as well as for His grace and mercy upon us.

Be a Friend

As a woman, wife and mother, daily I am presented with many tasks that I must perform to keep my family functioning well…cook, clean, instruct, encourage, mend (broken skin and broken hearts), just to name a few. Give , give, give that is what I am called to do. Sometimes I feel like my heart and mind are near depletion. I need a pick me, rejuvenation and refocus. God hears my cry and He sends a friend (Monday it was my mom) to encourage me. As I cried on her shoulder she said a lot of things, but the most encouraging thing she said was she feels me and then she prayed with me. Be a friend today and follow the leading of the Lord to be a vessel of encouragement.

Tell us about your God moment when you were encouraged by a friend.

Save at Least 40% on Your Weekly Grocery Bill

Maybe you've heard of the coupon craze that has been going on lately. Well, I am a living witness that you can save money using coupons. I have consistently saved at least 40% on my grocery bill each week for years. There is no time like to present for you to get started.

To maximize your savings, gather coupons. Inside each Sunday paper are “Coupon Inserts” called Smart Source (SS), Red Plum (RP) or Proctor & Gamble (PG). You may also receive coupons in “The Bag” which is distributed weekly on mailboxes or doorknobs in most neighborhoods.

Call your local newspaper’s circulation department and ask…

· Do you offer a Sunday only subscription?

· Are you currently offering any discount on the Sunday only subscription?

· Do you offer any discount if I order multiple copies of your Sunday paper? (Subscribing to 4-6 copies of the Sunday paper will give you 4-6 copies of each coupon and you’ll be able to stockpile items when they are Free or cheap or you can purchase whole inserts online from services like Collectable Coupons, The Coupon Clippers or CouponsandthingsbyDede.) The cost of multiple newspaper usually pays for itself weekly.

You don't have to wait until your newspaper subscription gets delivered, stop by your local grocery store, drug store or gas station and see if they have any newspaper left over from yesterday. They will gladly sell them to you.
