Happy Spring!

When I think of Spring I think of the many occasions in which I will be celebrating: birthdays, Easter, graduations, weddings etc. I always feel good when that special day arrives and I am prepared with a handcrafted greeting card and a gift.

What about you, are there special occasions you’d like to be ready for? Here is a quick card you can make.

Happy Birthday Card

Ingredients:
Brown Cardstock
Pink Lemonade Cardstock
Honeydew Cardstock
Mediterranean Cardstock
Scallop Circle Maker
Circle Maker
Corner Maker
Fine-tip Classic Pens Set
Simply Beautiful Birthday Additions
Jumbo Wavy Square
Rotary Scoring Blade

How to Create:
Cut Brown Cardstock 5-1/2" x 11". Score at 5-1/2".

Using the Corner Maker, round the back two corners of the card.

Place one corner of Jumbo Wavy Square on the front flap, and using the Red Blade (outside of template), cut pattern as shown.

Place Jumbo Wavy Square on Pink Lemonade Cardstock, using Red Blade, cut inside and outside of template, making a corner measuring approx. 5-1/2" on each side.

Adhere to front flap of card and cut off excess on each side.

Using a Cocoa Pen, doodle along edges.

Using Scallop Circle (without holes) cut a circle from Honeydew Cardstock.

Using the Circle Maker, cut a 1-1/4" circle from Mediterranean Cardstock. Adhere circle on top of scallop circle and adhere to card as shown.

Make small dots with Cocoa pen around edge of circle.

Apply Simply Beautiful Birthday Additions "Happy Birthday!" sticker through center of circle.

Cut several 3" x 1/4" strips from Pink Lemonade, Honeydew and Mediterranean Cardstock. Adhere vertically inside card as shown.

Adhere a strip of Pink Lemonade Cardstock 5-1/2" x 1/4" across the top of all strips.

Finished Size:
5-1/2" x 5-1/2"

POWER SORT AND POWER LAYOUT WORKSHOP

This workshop is designed to help you organize and complete your photo projects.

Need to get ORGANIZED? Let’s sort your photos. POWER SORT-Processed Photos-Bring your bags, boxes and envelopes, sort up to 2400 pictures in one convenient, photo safe box. Digital Photos-Bring your camera, photo CD, flash drive and laptop, organize and edit your pictures. I will provide the instruction, space and tools to organize your pictures. Cost Processed Photos- $48.00 (includes a Power Sort Box and dividers)/ Digital Photos $51(includes Memory Manager Software) .

Now let’s COMPLETE your album project! POWER LAYOUT-Bring only the pictures, for this particular scrapbook album project. At the workshop your will crop all of your pictures and then layout the pages of your album and safely store them in your Power Layout Box. Using this method you will find working on your album unto completion, a simple pleasure not a difficult project. Let's be Creative Together

One of my goals this year is to create and alter with purpose using materials I have readily on hand. With that said I ask you, what are you going to do with all the paper, beads, buttons and ribbons you have? I suggest you make a scrapbook album, greeting card or maybe even a piece of jewelry.

This month in the Greeting Card Club we are making journals out of composition notebooks. Yes, plain old composition notebooks can be transformed into beautiful, useful journals. You could even give them as gifts. Here is a journal made by one our greeting card members, Cheryle Carter. She intends to use hers at a conference.
