I CAN because HE IS my God!

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not to your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct thy path.

I am a sinner saved by grace, called to a purpose I am incapable of fulfilling...but God.  At the end of each year usually between Christmas and New Year's celebration I reflect on the past year and ask the Lord to give me wisdom and discernment as I enter the next year.  During that time in 2017 the Lord revealed a few things to me:

-Secure your foundation (who is your Paul, Timothy and Titus I must be accountable to Him and others)
-Build (refresh and renew our home, prepare for more hospitality)
-Live (trust me and walk in obedience do life as He leads me)

In essence I see the Lord drawing me HOME...our home and His home.
By His grace our home has always been a place where He resides.  There is no doubt His holy spirit is here resting, ruling and abiding in this place and in this season He wants to use me here not just to bless our family but a as a place in which He will bless others.

So, I've been taking steps to prepare my heart, my mind and my home for His glory. This is a sacrifice in many ways.  Please pray for me that I will walk in obedience to His will.

I am feeling grateful for my blessings...
my husband and our children, my gifts and talents and the fruits of the spirit that God gives me each day to embrace my many responsibilities and tasks "...To whom much is given, much is required..." Luke 12:48

I have reflected on and referred to that scripture from time to time when I've not wanted to do that which is required of me.

FRUIT OF HER HANDS has been a joyous adventure this past 2 years.  I am grateful to God for the many things I have been able to create and sell in the marketplace.  I am most grateful for the many people I have been able to meet and those I've been asked to make things specifically for.  THANK YOU!

Giving God Our Best

It's a New Year...an opportunity for a refreshed and renewed heart in Him.  This is what we each are offered.  The beginning of a new year can give a glimpse of hope and a bit of aspiration.  Don't let this occasion pass by, embrace it and get back on the road that God has for you to travel on with faith and zeal.  With Him all things are possible!

Really, this message is for me.  God has revealed this leg of my journey of life to me and I am embracing it!  Not because I can do this, but instead because I know I can't do it without Him which means I will need to draw nearer unto Him...closer to Him is where I like to be. God has called me to "know" that my husband's heart does safely trust in me (still, 20+ years later) and to put my merchandise in the marketplace.  "She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant."  Proverbs 31:24.  These aren't new callings, but are areas of my calling in which God specifically wants to use me in during this season.  He has called me unto humility and service to Him, to Walter (my husband) and to others.

During this season (His season) I know I will have great need of Him because I will be stretched spiritually,  mentally and physically. Please pray for me and I'd like to pray for you.  What has God revealed to you as you begin this new year?

Remember, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you..HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

The Pursuit of Virtue

Monday, was the second day of Virtue Family Fun Camp and so the journey begins!  Ladies, if you are in need of inspiration, encouragement and/or accountability, come join us for this summer series...Called to be...A Virtuous Woman.

I am so excited to share what God is teaching me about me.  Thus far, I know that I have been called, for the question has been posed, "Who can find a virtuous woman?"..., Proverbs 31:10a.  That is to imply that I must accept the call or responsibility to "be" virtuous.  I do, I accept my call and I know my worth, "...for her price is far above rubies", Proverbs 31:10b.  This is the value placed upon me by my husband;  I am certain that he knows I am a rare find ;) and I must reflect that worth daily.

I accept the charge to be trustworthy, "The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her...", Proverbs 31:11a.    I want Walter to be confident of my submission to him and his well being.

I choose to make it my business to know his heart and mind and to help him accomplish that which God has called him unto; I want to compliment him.  Even with my greatest desires and sincere heart, I must admit, this requires my submission to God and his Holy Spirit, first, that I may be filled with fruits that I lack.

I know that my presentation at home and in public are what makes Walter feel safe with me, not threatened, nor shamed. "...so that he shall have no need of spoil", Proverbs 31:11b.  It is a privilege to manage his affairs and to do him good.  For me, the difficulty is to be considerate of him, always, no matter what his state: physically, mentally or spiritually.  I know that my commitment and covenant unto him can not be conditional, "She will do him good and not evil all the days of his life", Proverbs 31:12.

I must be wise and discerning, willing to make sacrifices, having knowledge to make good decisions for him and our household. Wow! Lord, what a call!  I know I can NOT do this on my own.  I  have need of You continuously throughout each day, for my duties are great. I have need of my sisters in Christ as well to walk along side me that we might sharpen, inspire and empower one another.

As reflect on the Proverbs 31 Woman this summer, one of the greatest blessings I have is to embrace this journey with my daughter as she too has accepted the "call" to be a virtuous woman.  I have the pleasure of watching her pursue God for herself.  She is reading a couple of books this summer to give her wisdom and insight that she might be the woman God has called her to be.  As I engage in conversations with her and she shares what God has said to her and how He is leading her, I am humbled by her love and passion for pursuing Him and his will for this season of her life.  Won't you join us?  We meet each Monday at Lazelle Woods Park, Lazelle Rd. Virtue Family Fun Camp begins at 1:30 and includes a Bible study, book review and prayer, 3:00-4:30. Comment for more information.

Your Abundance...Others Blessings!

It's gardening season and many people reap a harvest, what about you?  And what do you do with all those herbs, fruits and vegetables?  I hope you share them.  As for me, we rarely have extra crop, but please know that we are willing to receive!  Your abundance is others blessing.

It's a good idea to let others know when your pickins are ripe and have them join you for a meal or take them to work or church and share them.  As we all know the cost of food is expensive and we should let not one morsel go bad or a fellow to go without plenty....so share your harvest today!

Who Can Find A Virtuous Woman?

The apostle Paul is often admired as a "true" man of God, one many admonish.  Well, the Proverbs 31 Woman is my "Paul", the woman in whom I see Christ in and through, the woman I look up to...desire to be like.  She has been the model woman of God to me since I became a Christian.  I like to think I am like her in some ways.

As this year began, I sought the Lord for material to study that my heart and mind will be refreshed and renewed. He lead me to Proverbs 31:10-31.  I was instructed to take my time and study this Word, carefully, pondering it in my heart and to align my life as He leads.  I must say, I am excited!  For I am back at home with a more normal daily agenda and I am ready to embrace this season of life with integrity and grace.

"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies." Proverbs 31:10, nothing like getting straight to the point.  This scripture, personally translated says to me, "Can You, Michele, Be Found To Be A Virtuous Woman?".  To be virtuous is to be morally excellent, upright before the Lord.  A Virtuous Woman is a woman of strength, wisdom and grace, a woman who fears God.

This question caused me to pause and examine my heart, my conduct and ask God to search me and reveal to me that which is not of Him.  The one thing the Lord showed me was the need for me to daily ask the Lord to fill my heart with the "fruits of the spirit".  "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law", ' Galatians 5:22-23, that my responses to life will be a blessing.

...For her price is far above rubies.  For some, to be like the Proverbs 31Woman is an unattainable idea, for me she is a mentor worth following.  She is rare, she is full of value.  Thank you Lord for leading me along this path.

What do you think about the Proverbs 31 Woman?  Will you pray for me as I study this Word...will you join me in this pursuit of excellence?

Our Children: Three Generations

It is said that a generation is the span of 10 years and our children range in age from 23-3 years old which means we have three generations of children; our quiver is certainly full!  With three generations, it can be very easy to over look ones and at times, though not on purpose, I am sure that I have.  Parenting is a choice and I am committed not to get weary, but to do well unto each child I have birthed and boy is it difficult at times.  When I say well I mean to personally care for their needs as their mother and to offer each one attention, affection, instruction and discipline, daily accepting my responsibility to train each one, of each generation.

God does not give me a pass because I have had ten children, no, but He does give me wisdom, strength and much grace and mercy.  I find myself seeking him often, sometimes several times a day for discernment and joy, for I know I can NOT do this by myself.  This week we allowed two more of our second generation of children to participate in a (FCA) sports camp leaving me with just a few at home to nurture and train.

What a joy and a pleasure it has been to look in these little guys faces each day this week, conversing with them and kissing on them.  I "want" to know them.  I am grateful for the opportunity to do ABC's and 123's with them.  Our week has been full as is my heart unto the Lord for his goodness and his grace.

I have also had the joy of watching our first generation of children do life independently this week as they have been busy at work, volunteering and participating in football camps.  It was once said to us that we should spend at least 15 minutes talking to each child, each day.  This practice has been a great investment.  Now, they regularly come to me with the days events, I just love these talks!  My greatest hope is that when my task of training them comes to an end, each one will choose to have a lifelong relationship with me, with us.  "She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.  Her children arise up, and call her blessed..." Proverbs 31:

What about you...what is your greatest hope as a mother?

Called to be...A Proverbs 31 Woman

I have always been inspired by Proverbs 31:10-31, the word that speaks of a woman of God who has discipline, confidence, commitment, wisdom and grace, a Virtuous Woman.  It is evident that she accepted the call on her life with passion and dedication.

At first glance many are intimidated by her resume, for she is very well equipped by the Lord to live out the tasks placed before her.  I am not intimidated, but instead encouraged to know there was a woman after my own heart who strived consistently and accomplished  her responsibilities...daily fulfilled her call.  She is my Paul, my mentor, the one I esteem to be like.

It is so fitting that the Lord led me to study the Virtuous Woman during this season of my life.  I have need of sharpening, for the battle that I am in is an attack on my character, my commitment and my dedication to the Lord and his calling on my life. As I have indulged in this Word,  I have been convicted and convinced, insighted and encouraged.  I know I don't have all of the gifts and talents the Virtuous Woman had, but through this study my own gifts and talents have been illuminated.  My character and the lack thereof  has also been highlighted.  These revelations have given me opportunities to seek the Lord that I can be equipped and strengthened to walk, run and stand in the heat of the battle.  "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.", 2 Corinthians 10:4.

I believed every woman has been called to be virtuous, don't you?  Come and join me in this study of the Virtuous Woman this summer.   I will be using my own personal commentary on Proverbs 31:10-31 and "A Woman's Walk With God Growing in the Fruits of the Spirit, by Elizabeth George, every Monday afternoon at Lazelle Woods Park.  I wil have additional copies of this book at a cost of $12 each.

Hot Fun in the Summertime!

I must say, I am looking forward to this summer!

We are blessed to be back in our home where we will return to a few Bowie summer traditions as well as indulge in a few new actvities.  I have been busy the last couple of weeks putting together our family summer schedule and in the process I see that camps and activities are very expensive especially for our family of 8 children (of 10 that are still at home).  So, one thing I know for sure that we will do is continue with our weekly family fun camp, Virtue.

I was led to start Virtue Family Fun Camp about ten years ago.  I have it at our community park.  It consist of a picinic lunch, a book review, a creative writing time, a craft, an outside group activity, bible study and prayer; something for everyone, moms and children!

Virtue has been a good alternative to a weekly camp that I might enroll our children in.  It gives them exercise and fellowship. It is also a great way to keep my children reading and it gives them an opportunity to indulge in arts and crafts and  creative writing with others.

For me, it is an opportunity for sweet fellowship, and a time to be sharpened by my sisters in Christ.  I enjoy discusing God's word and praying with other women.  Over the years I have been encouraged and inspired through this camp as have our children.

Please consider joinimg us!  There is no commitment or cost, it is FREE for all and it is fun, fun, fun!  We meet weekly at Lazelle Woods Park, Lazelle Rd., Westerville, Ohio, 1:30-4:30 every Monday, June 9th - August 4th.

The Gift of Grandparenting

To be chosen to be a mom and birth 10 children was a gift in and of itself and now the Lord has been so gracious to bless us with grandchildren and I am in awe with Jesus.  Since we have just one daughter it has been my prayer to be close to my grandchildren and their mothers and God has answered my prayer.

One of the greatest blessings about being a grandmother is having the opportunity to share the goodness of the Lord, intimately with yet another generation of Bowies.  It is such a joy to do life with MJ (MiKyle Jr.), which is our oldest grandson and soon with JJ (Jacob Justice) our newborn grandson.  When MJ is here during the weekday he is with us in the schoolroom, present for all the teachings and family devotions.  When he is with us on the weekends he is present for Sunday dinner and sweet fellowship.  But the times I enjoy most are when he is in the kitchen chatting with me as I cook and when he comes in my bedroom to spend one-on-one time with me.  During those times I tell him how special he is and that he is loved by God.  I remember doing the same thing with his dad and it laid a foundation of open communication and ministry opportinities and I look forward to blessing our grandchildren in the same way.

One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.  I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.  Psalms 145:4-5

Home Sweet Home

We are so grateful to be home!  The journey back home has been very long.  Along the way there have been losses, disappointments, confusion, frustration and sadness.  There has also been much joy, peace, grace, growth, sweet fellowship and love.  Through it all God has been apparrent to me.  He has ministered to my heart and mind, given wisdom and discernment and embraced me with love.  There is none like Him.  He is my provider, my refuge and my strength. I have come to know Him more intimately.  I trust the Lord for I have seen Him for myself over and over again.  Thank you Lord!

We have been home since November 3rd and our hearts are at peace here at home.  There have been no nightmares or display of discomort.  We have even enjoyed the warmth of our fireplace many times since we have returned home, God is good!

As I reflect on that which 2013 presented us with, I am in awe with Jesus. I recall our situation this time last year; we were so grateful for life, yet very uncertain of our journey home, financially and physically.   Then, the Lord led us to commit to expand our home and trust Him to furnish and rebuild it.  I remember being confident that this was His will for us and at the same time feeling blind unto His way, for we had lost about 85% of our house and about 85% of our belongings.

It was the beginning of a long leg of the journey,  a path in which I was unfamiliar (that of providing everything from clothing to furniture for our family of 10 all at the same time), but willing to walk along with Him.  In January, I began the dilligent process of replacing our belongings.  I did so as I always do when in need of something for our family, I sought the thrift stores, clearance racks and sales ads.  Now, if you are one who shops this way you know this can be a process of hit or miss, feast or famine and to find that which you are looking for takes much time and patience.  To say the least my time was limited, at best and I had to grow in the area of patience.

To accomplish this task it was necessary to develop a routine, which for me included a large mocha every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, theses were the days I commited to seeking and finding our long list of needs and wants.  Along the way I met others who were willing to share information with me as to places to shop and sales to take advantage of.

After being told a few times about Habitat for Humanity Restore, I visited and God revealed another part of his plan, that of his provision for sinks, cabinets, light fixtures, doors etc.  Okay, I didn't know this was going to be a part of the plan and it this was unfamiliar territory for sure. To gain knowledge and understanding, I kept seeking God and following him.  This was the way in which we were going to stay within our means.   And wow!!!  I found items I never thought to look for, in places I had never shopped to now have a home that I never invisioned.  As God said he would, He rebuilt and furnished our home.

This has been a long, challenging process by which God has renewed our home and renewed our hearts.  I must say this was not an easy process for our family, but there were many blessings that we each experienced this year, times when we saw God at work...times we will never forget.  For me personally, I know He pursued me continuously and ministered to me graciously.  He gave me much wisdom and strength to accomplish that which he set forth for me to do unto His will to ackomplish his plan for our family.  Through this fire I have been tried, refined and made new, thank you God!

I want to also thank each and everyone who supported us through prayers, donations, service and fellowship.  I don't know what 2014 will bring, but I know come what may, "I can do all things through Christ who strenthens me", and thus I look forward to the days to come with much faith and hope in Him.  Happy New Year!

Trust the Lord, Always

I must begin by saying "thank you" to all who have prayed for my family and I as we have been grieving the loss of our child unto miscarriage.  The loss of a child is always difficult for me. I have experienced two miscarriages and the birth of a still born (Zephaniah Bowie).  Each of these losses were heart wrenching, but with God, through the Holy Spirit I was able to receive His will with peace.

With this particular loss, I was given wisdom and grace, before hand.  The Lord gave me knowledge of our situation in that of my low hcg level.  That insight lead me to seek Him diligently for that which I needed to carry on, sometimes moment by moment and other times day to day.  It also gave me the opportunity to trust Him and to put my faith into action.  I chose to handle the situation like David, for while there was still hope, I prayed, in faith, for the healthy life of our child, but when I experienced the miscarriage, though I sobbed with much grief and sorrow, I chose to accept His will, press on and bless His name.

Through this season of life, through the fire, including this pregnancy and loss, I have learned to trust the Lord, always.  When the trials and tribulations of life present themselves...trust the Lord...when concerned...trust the Lord, when fearful...trust the Lord, when perplexed...trust the Lord, when angry...trust the Lord and when grieving...trust the Lord.  "...for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content." Phil 4:11b

Thank you Lord for your Holy Spirit that strengthens, comforts and keeps me...I trust You, always.  "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." Phil 4:13

I Must Go On In Him

Today I was blessed with a rose, coffee and fresh fruit from my husband, Tim Horton's donuts, more coffee and hugs from dear friends and continuously I have been showered with love, care and encouragement from my children. There is life and love all around me. I am blessed and inspired; I must go on in Him, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13.

I solicit your prayers as I continue to heal physically and emotionally.  Even now, I rejoice in the Lord for he has been merciful unto me.  My pain has been light and the bleeding is manageable, though today I have been rather nauseous at times (see http://michele-fruitofherhands.blogspot.com/2013/07/not-my-will-but-thy-will-lord.html).  I am comforted in knowing that this too shall pass.

As I rest today, I am prayerful and looking forward to that which the Lord has for me to do.  This weekend, July 26th and 27th we will still have Beds for Bowies Garage Sale and though there will be limited items due to my inability to complete all of my projects, I will still have a few items available on Saturday, July 27th, 11:00-1:00 for Beds for Bowies Home Decor Party (see http://michele-fruitofherhands.blogspot.com/2013/07/god-is-faithful-to-bring-it-to-past.html).  Please plan to join us, for these our last two fundraisers.  We will see this through in faith, for our goal is to finish well!

Not My Will, But Thy Will Lord

The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands. Psalm 138:8  It is with great sadness that I share that my pregnancy will end in a loss.  Yesterday morning I began to spot, later that afternoon I had an ultrasound which confirmed that I had begun the process of miscarriage. I will go through the process naturally as I am comforted by Lord and my family.

As I reflect on this short journey, I am so grateful for my relationship with the Lord who gives me wisdom, patience and peace.  Upon finding out about this pregnancy I was surprised and honored to be chosen. I am always in awe with God, his ways truly give me a clarity of his sovereignty and his grace.  Though I am sad and disappointed, I trust the Lord.  My life is in His hands, for He knows what's best for me...Not my will, but thy will Lord.

Baby Bowie #11...A Test Of Our Faith

It's been one week since I had my first visit to the doctor for "Baby Bowie #11" and though my hcg levels are low there has still been no sign of miscarriage.  I am grateful for my faith in God!  Last week when I first heard of the possibility of a miscarriage I was not shaken, but by the next morning I was saddened by the thought of losing such a gift from God.  I then began to prepare myself for a miscarriage, a D&C and recovery.  By Sunday morning, I was again sad, so I cried out to the Lord. He ministered to me, giving me wisdom and truth by presenting the facts to me:  you are having no sign of miscarriage currently and you are not alone, you have me through this pregnancy with you...unto the end which is yet to be seen. I accepted those truths in my heart and mind and I chose to rejoice and praise Him.

Walter and I are at peace with our decision to wait on the Lord; this is yet another test of our faith.  It is a fact that when one has a miscarriage they usually have low hcg levels and it is also a fact that God is our creator and he is the author of life and death.  We will not interfere with God's plan by submitting to any procedure before His will of such is evident.  We know the reality of miscarriage from previous experience as well as we know the reality of God's sovereignty and his favor from previous experience.  We are looking forward to another ultra sound on Monday and we are very hopeful that our baby is well.  Will you join us in prayer for a mentally, physically and spiritually healthy Baby Bowie?

Recreate, Repurpose, Renewed Home Decor and Home Furnishings

Eight months ago, I didn't think I'd be handcrafting home decor and renewing home furnishing again, but look at God.  As a result of our home fire and now our need for furniture and home decor, I began my journey of purchasing used, sturdy, solid wood pieces of furniture to renew (as seen below) and household items to recreate and repurpose. Handcrafting home decor was once a passion, so I am enjoying this opportunity to use my gifts and talents again to bless our family.

With the need to raise more funds for Beds for Bowies, I have decided to handcraft some items for resale.  I have been diligent to the task, below are items that are currently for sale.

On Saturday, July 27th, 11am -1 pm, I will host, Fruit of Her Hands Home Decor and Home Furnishings Party.  ALL the proceeds will go to Beds for Bowies.  Mark you calendar and come shop for your home or office.

Children are a Heritage of the Lord

I am so grateful to the Lord for His mercy and grace which he has showered upon our children during this season of our lives.  Through the fire I have seen Him draw them unto him intimately as I have watched them search their souls and yield unto Him in submission.  I have seen them wrestle with our situation at times along with the truth of His word to be our "provider".  I seen them grow as individuals, His children, our gifts.  I am so grateful for the privilege to be their mother, each and everyone of them.

Our children are our heritage; God's children given to us by birth, gifts from Him.  I have received each one as a gift for I know that it is a privilege to be chosen by Him to bear and train them unto Him.  From conception I acknowledge His goodness to have selected me out of the many to nurture each one.  As with any heritage, the intent of the gift was for it be treasured, cared for on purpose, with much responsibility.  This is why it saddens me to loose one before I have the opportunity to fulfill my purpose, to play my role as mommy.

Not my will, but thine O Lord", is my thought right now as three weeks ago I found out that I was pregnant and after a visit to my doctor, I have found that my pregnancy may not be viable.  I have had two blood test which indicate a drop in my hcg levels which occurs when one miscarries, to date I have had no sign of a miscarriage.  I have another ultra sound scheduled for Monday and so in faith...and hope... and uncertainty, I trust in the Lord.  For His will is what I desire for me, for us.

And as I go through this time of not knowing what will become of my little glimpse of life in my womb, I look at our children and I say thank you Lord.

Thank for blessing with us with such a heritage as this.  Some inherit houses and land, but for us, O Lord, you have chosen us for a greater heritage, one that may live eternally, thank you God!

Please pray for our family, for our strength and our joy to be abundant in Him, thank you!

God is Faithful to Bring it to Past

Beds for Bowies Walk-a-thon was truly a success!  Let me explain what I mean by "success".  God's will was done; He did what he set out to do...provide!.   When I prayed about our bedding situation God answered me with wisdom and instruction.  He gave it to me piece...by piece.  Please know that this was not a clear road map, but instead He gave a bit a time.  As I spoke about that which He laid upon my heart, He gave me a bit more.  Now, be mindful that as I received it, though I spoke it I did not necessarily have confidence about it, but I did choose to walk in faith.  You may recall from previous blog posts that I was concerned about the number of walkers and prayer warriors or lack there of.  I had a totally different idea of success; all the more reason to trust the Lord and that which he leads you to do.

Well, I am so glad to say our God does that which He wills.  I asked for provisions and he gave me a vision and instruction for those provisions, my job was to obey.  On Saturday, July, 13th, as planned we met with others at our home for prayer.  We were able to join hands across the front of our home, yeah!!! We laid our petitions before the Lord and gave Him praise for his many blessings. At Beds for Bowies Walk-a-thon we had a total of 24 walkers, including children and we had 4 volunteers.  We collected enough money to meet our first goal which is to purchase a mattress for each one of us, thank you Lord!    It was such a day of peace and sweet fellowship...God was present.

I am in awe with God!  He has been so gracious to speak to me with wisdom and clarity AND He was faithful to bring it to past.  I can't express how humbled I am by His goodness. He spoke to my heart and I had the pleasure of seeing and experiencing His will, his purpose, his provisions unfold.

We still have some fundraising to do to meet our final goal of purchasing beds for the boys, that's 8 maybe 9 beds (see my recent post:  http://michele-fruitofherhands.blogspot.com/2013/07/children-are-heritage-of-lord.html). If you pledged to sponsor one of us for the walk-a-thon and have not yet given us your funds or if you would like to make a donation you can do so on this blog using the Bowie Fire Fund "DONATE" button located in the right hand corner at the top of the page.

We are faithful and will complete this journey by having two more fundraisers.  On July 26th and July 27th we will have a Beds for Bowies Garage Sale.  We are in need of  your unwanted household items, tools etc. (no clothing).  And on July 27th, 11:00-1:00, we will have a Beds for Bowies Home Decor Party consisting of handcrafted and renewed home decor and furniture by Fruit of Her Hands. ALL the proceeds will go directly to Beds for Bowies. Please pray for us as we continue to trust in Him.

Experience God WIth Us!

Have you ever experienced the power of prayer?  A time when you were praying and you felt His presence or maybe a time when you were joined with another in prayer and you felt a peace come over you with regards to your petition.  We are expecting to meet God tomorrow at our home as we gather together for prayer over our home and our family.

I am faithful that God will be present and He will bless us with his goodness.  I believe that all who gather with us will blessed because no one can be in the presence of the one true God and not be blessed by Him.  Will you come and experience God with us?  Join us in a blessing of our home and of our family.

We covet your presences and your prayers.  There is nothing like coming together with the body of Christ for prayer, what a powerful time it is!  My hope is that will we be able to litereally "circle" our home and pray together and give God praise.  Will you join us tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. at our home?

If you are unable to be there in body, will you commit to being there in spirit and set your alarms and begin to pray with us at 8:15 a.m. that is our goal, that ones will be praying for God's will, his blessing upon the Bowie family, collectively.  There is power in prayer!

There's No Place Like Home

When you've been away for an extended time, even for a wonderful vacation, there is nothing like coming back home to your own space, to your own bed.  With the recent construction progress on our home, I can see the reality of us returning home soon and I am looking forward to it.

We look forward to various aspects of being home, but we all agree that it will be nice to return home to what will be our own bed just as we would if we'd been away for any other occasion, "there's no place like home".

Will you help each of us return home to a comfortable bed, one with a comfortable mattress?  Beds for Bowies Walk-a-thon is in less than 24 hours and we are still in need of sponsors and  walkers, will you join us? To give financially use the "donate" button to the right of this page (located at the top). Your support is very important to us, however you feel lead, please join us.

We need your presence as much as we need your financial and prayer support.  To hold ones hands to form a circle of prayer around our home and our family and to see ones faces as we walk the mile path at Lazelle Woods Park will be a blessing and an expression of God's love to us.  Please, come and embrace us on this leg of our journey through the fire.

The Power of Prayer

Many of you have been praying for us and the rebuilding of our home.  I am praising the Lord; currently our home is under construction.  Yes, work is being done!  The foundation has been repaired and the new foundation for the expansion is built.  Last week they starting framing, yeah!  Prayer changes things.  When the Lord gave me the plan for Beds for Bowies Walk-a-thon, he also gave me a vision of ones surrounding our home for corporate prayer.

We will have that corporate prayer on July 13, 2013 at 8:00 a.m. at our home as it is under construction.  We will pray for continued progress with no costly delays, safety for the construction workers and that the hands of those building our home would be blessed by the Lord.  We will also pray for each of us, Bowies, that we will be anxious for nothing, but instead trust the Lord for wisdom, patience and peace.  We ask that the Lord give Walter and I insight and discernment as things progress that we make wise decisions as the need arises and that we look to God to continue to be our strength and our provider.  Will you join us?

We need you, each of you in spirit and indeed!  The goal is to surround our home;  that will take a lot of prayer warriors. Oh, the power of prayer; can you imagine the impact!  Where two or more are gathered...God is sure to hear our prayers and I am faithful He will answer them.  If you are unable to attend please join us in spirit that morning.  If you are interested in joining our prayer circle, please contact us for more details.
